After considerable discussion and evaluation, the RPCSC Board voted to move regular Club play from the DoubleTree to Centerline 33 under a new facility use agreement.

The primary reason is consistency. Unlike our current arrangement — where courts must continually be reserved in advance and are not always available — RPCSC will now have dedicated weekly court times reserved for the Club.

The move also provides:

• A more reliable long-term home base for Club play

• Opportunities for indoor play during bad weather when available

• Space for social gatherings and Club events

• More opportunities for organized play and special events

Most importantly, RPCSC remains fully independent, with its own Board, identity, programming, culture, and charitable mission.

No. Members may continue participating in RPCSC sessions without becoming Centerline 33 members.

Under the current agreement:

• RPCSC members who are not CL33 members would pay $10/session for regular Club play

• CL33 members participating in RPCSC play would not pay an additional court fee for regular Club sessions

CL33 does ask that all regular participants create a free CL33 account before play begins there. Many members already have accounts set up.

Members would simply check in at the front desk and pay any applicable fees directly to CL33.

Under the agreement:

• RPCSC members who are also CL33 members would play free during RPCSC sessions

• RPCSC participants who are not CL33 members would pay $10 per session

Under the current proposal, RPCSC would have reserved weekly outdoor court time at Centerline 33:

• Thursdays: 10:00am–12:00pm

• Saturdays: 9:00am–11:00am

• Sundays: 9:00am–11:00am

The Club would typically have access to 4–6 outdoor courts depending on participation and availability.

Because RPCSC offers much more than court access, including:

Free RPCSC round robins. CL33 runs its own round robins and organized events, but those typically involve an additional participation fee for CL33 members. Under the new arrangement, RPCSC members who are also CL33 members would be able to participate in RPCSC’s regular round robins and organized Club play at no additional cost.

Lower-cost Club events. RPCSC plans to continue hosting:

• MLP events

• Tournaments

• Round robins

• Social play

• Community events

While larger events may sometimes include a small fee to help offset snacks, prizes, medals, or event costs, RPCSC events are expected to remain lower cost and community-focused.

Guaranteed Club programming. RPCSC will continue to organize the friendly, welcoming programming members already enjoy — including social play, themed events, skill-based sessions, and fun formats.

More reliable court access. Unlike the DoubleTree arrangement, RPCSC will now have dedicated recurring court times reserved specifically for the Club.

Potential indoor play during rain. While indoor courts cannot always be guaranteed, CL33 has agreed to make reasonable efforts to accommodate RPCSC indoors during bad weather when space is available.

A vibrant pickleball community RPCSC is about much more than pickleball. Members consistently say they value:

• The welcoming atmosphere

• The friendships

• The laughter and social connection

• The organized play experience

• Being part of a fun, active, and supportive community

“Playing with a Purpose.” RPCSC’s charitable and community focus will continue exactly as before. Nothing replaces the feeling of giving back through the Club’s community initiatives, whether:

• Volunteering at the food bank

• Supporting local causes

• Helping organize events

• Raising more than $10,000 for pediatric cancer research

Club advocacy and member voice. RPCSC remains an independent organization focused on representing the interests of its members. The Board would continue advocating for quality programming, fair pricing, and a positive member experience.

Flexibility. Members would still have the option to:

• Participate only in RPCSC sessions

• Join CL33 separately if they wish

• Do both

• Or simply enjoy occasional Club events and social programming

The move is intended to expand options for members, not reduce them.

Yes. RPCSC will continue running its own:

• Round robins

• Organized play

• MLP events

• Social events

• Tournaments

• Community programming

The Club remains an independent nonprofit organization with its own leadership and mission.

No. The move simply gives RPCSC a more stable and consistent venue for play.

RPCSC remains RPCSC. The Club’s culture, leadership, programming, social events, and charitable mission all continue.

June 1, 2026. This will give time for members to create CL33 pods if they wish, and honor our existing reservations at the Doubletree.

RPCSC’s regular reserved times are currently structured as outdoor court times.

However, Centerline 33 has stated that it will make “reasonable efforts” to provide indoor court access during bad weather when courts are available.

Indoor courts would depend on:

• Existing reservations

• Open play schedules

• Leagues, clinics, and events

• Overall indoor court availability

Indoor courts are therefore not automatically guaranteed during rain, but both groups would coordinate to find solutions whenever possible.

Centerline 33 recently introduced a “Pickle Pod” membership option.

A Pickle Pod:

• Allows up to 6 players per pod

• Costs $450/month total

• Works out to $75/month per person if six players share the pod

• Includes unlimited open play

• Includes one shared court reservation per day

• Includes gym access

• Locks pricing through June 30, 2027

Participation in a pod is optional and separate from RPCSC membership.

No. According to Centerline 33’s information:

• Pod members can still join open play

• Players can participate in reservations booked by others

• Members are free to play with anyone, not just their pod

Yes. Members will still sign up to play through Pickleheads but, if you are a non-Centerline 33 member, payment will be made to Centerline 33 on arrival.

Yes. When members cancel within 24 hours, it takes effort to try to recruit a replacement player. The fee of $10 will remain in order to discourage last minute cancellations and will be payable to RPCSC.
