New Sunday Play Format

Check out our new Sunday play schedule designed to create more variety and add opportunities for more competitive play. These rotating formats keep games competitive and social by mixing partners and moving players between courts based on results.

Details will be posted in Pickleheads each week.

Sunday play is dedicated to competitive play requiring members to meet specific skills criteria (see below).

First Sunday: Popcorn Play (our current format)

  • Players rotate each round in a Popcorn format with new partners and opponents

  • Goal: Enjoy varied games with different partners and opponents

Second Sunday: Fixed Partners (with a twist)

  • Players sign up with a partner and remain together throughout the session

  • After each game, teams are randomly reassigned to new courts and opponents

  • Goal: enjoy varied games while building chemistry with your partner

  • The twist: partners change from month to month—you cannot keep the same partner each time

Third Sunday: King (or Queen) of the Court

  • Winners move up a court and losers move down a court, splitting partners every time

  • Goal: Create competitive, level-based games and reward consistent performance

Fourth Sunday: Rotation Week

  • A different format each month; examples include “The Gauntlet” or “Cream of the Crop”

  • Goal: Keep things fresh and introduce new, fun variations

Skills Criteria for Sunday Intermediate Play:

Requirements: Participants should have solid intermediate to advanced skills. Specifically, players should be able to:

  • Rally 6–10 shots consistently

  • Serve and return with 80%+ accuracy

  • Understand the rules and court positioning

  • Maintain strong dinks and effective court movement.

  • Note: DUPR rating is not a factor; it’s your skill level that counts! We will actively monitor games and make adjustments as needed.
